Pool Leak Detection in Surf City

Leak Locators East Coast covers Surf City and the rest of Topsail Island. A pool on a barrier island is no harder to diagnose, but it is harder to get to twice — everything crosses a bridge, and a second trip costs a day rather than an hour. So the visit is built to settle the question in one visit. The shell and each plumbing run are tested separately until the loss has a location rather than a guess, and none of that requires opening anything.

Method

How the leak is located

Acoustic listening and line-by-line pressure testing carry most of the work. Pressure testing rules a line out as firmly as it rules one in, and on an island job ruling out is what prevents a return visit — you finish knowing which run is responsible, not which one might be.

What a Surf City visit covers, in the order it happens.

  1. Detect

Confirm the pool is losing water and rule out evaporation. Each plumbing line is isolated and brought up to pressure on a gauge; the line that will not hold is the line with the problem.

  2. Locate

Acoustic listening narrows the loss along the run to one point, and the surface above it is marked. Nothing is opened to find out where the problem is.

  3. Resolve

A small, specific opening at the marked point. The same crew that found the leak repairs it, and you get a written record of what was tested, found and fixed.

A pool with the deck edge excavated to reach the return lines, soil piled beside the opening, a work canopy over the dig and a skimmer housing in the foreground.

FAQ

Questions people ask

See all frequently asked questions
Do you come out to Topsail Island?

Yes. Surf City, Topsail Beach and the surrounding island are confirmed service areas.

Can you find it in one visit?

That is what the visit is built to do, and testing each system separately is what makes it realistic. A pool with more than one problem can take longer, and we would rather say so than rush it.

The pool sits unused most of the week. Does that matter?

It helps, if anything. A pool nobody is swimming in loses water through the leak and almost nothing else, which makes the reading cleaner than one being splashed out and topped up daily.

Do you have to open the deck to find it?

No. Locating is non-invasive. Opening anything is a repair step, and only once the source is known.
