Privacy Policy

This policy applies to Leak Locators East Coast and to this website, leaklocatorseastcoast.com. It explains what we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and which outside services are involved. It does not cover any other company’s website, even if we link to it.

Most of this site can be read without giving us anything. The information we hold is almost entirely information you chose to type into a form.

When you submit our contact or inspection form, we receive:

• your name
• your email address
• your phone number
• the property or service location you tell us about
• details about the service you need, such as property type and urgency
• anything else you write in the message field

Separately, the measurement tools described below may record technical and usage information about your visit, such as which pages you opened and what kind of device you used. That information is not something you type in, and we do not combine it with your form submission to build a profile of you.

We use what you send us to:

• reply to your enquiry
• schedule and discuss inspections and services
• provide customer support and follow up on work we have done
• communicate with you about services you asked about
• run and maintain the business and this website
• understand how the site is used, so we can improve it
• protect against misuse, spam and fraud

We do not sell personal information.

The forms on our contact page and our inspection request page are processed on our server and then delivered to us by email.

We use Resend, an email delivery service, to send that email. What you submit passes through Resend in order to reach our inbox, and is handled under Resend’s own privacy terms as well as this policy.

We ask only for what we need to call you back and understand the problem. You do not have to use a form at all — you are welcome to call us on (919) 633-4975 instead.

We may use Google Tag Manager on this website. Tag Manager is not itself an analytics product — it is a container that loads and controls the measurement tools we have configured. In practice this means the tools described in the next two sections are loaded through it, and the list can change without the website code changing.

We may use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site. It may collect information such as:

• the pages you view and how long you spend on them
• an approximate location, derived from your IP address
• your device type, browser and screen size
• how you arrived — a search engine, another website, or a direct visit
• interactions such as tapping a phone number, starting a form and submitting a form

We record that a form was started and that a form was submitted. The contents of what you typed are not sent to Google Analytics.

We may use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors actually use the site. Clarity is more detailed than conventional analytics and we want to be plain about it. It may be used for:

• session recordings — a replay of how a visit moved through the site
• heatmaps showing where visitors click, tap and scroll
• interaction analysis, such as where people stop or go back

This can capture clicks, taps, scrolling, mouse movement, navigation between pages and similar usage behaviour.

We do not set out to record the contents of form fields, and Clarity provides masking intended to keep text input out of recordings. We cannot promise that masking is complete or perfect in every case. Please do not type information into this website that you would not want recorded.

The measurement tools above may use cookies, browser local storage or similar technologies. Where they do, the purposes are:

• analytics — understanding visits and traffic sources
• performance — seeing what is slow or failing
• usability — understanding how the site is actually used
• measurement — counting calls and form submissions

We do not run advertising cookies on this website, and we do not use it to build advertising audiences.

We share information only with the services needed to run the website and the business. Those are:

• Netlify — website hosting and delivery
• Resend — delivering form submissions to us by email
• Google — Tag Manager and Analytics
• Microsoft — Clarity

Each handles information under its own terms. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety or property.

We do not sell personal information.

We keep what you send for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond to your request, carry out and record the work, meet our legal and accounting obligations, and resolve any dispute. Enquiries and job records are generally kept longer than website analytics, which the tools above retain under their own schedules.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold. This site is served over an encrypted connection.

No website, email system or online service can be guaranteed completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information such as financial or identity details through a web form.

• You can call us instead of using a form, and you can leave optional detail out of a message.
• You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and use your browser’s private browsing or tracking-protection features. Parts of the site may behave differently if you do.
• You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google’s browser add-on.
• You can contact us about information you have already sent, and we will do what we reasonably can.

This site links to places we do not control, including our Google Business Profile and reviews on Google. Once you follow a link, that company’s privacy practices apply, not ours.

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through it. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy as the website or the tools on it change. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
